The city of Suresnes uses Kraaft as site monitoring software for road maintenance
On May 17, 2022, we went to meet Alexandre Chopine and Ali Saidi, works supervisor in the town of Suresnes and site manager at Watelet TP (Eurovia group). Kraafers for over a year, they tell us about their experience.

The challenges of Watelet TP before using Kraaft
“In Suresnes we have a maintenance lease with the Watelet TP management company. We have a team of 2 people on a daily basis in the city” begins Alexandre. Both on large construction sites and on small road maintenance jobs: change of posts, road subsidence, potholes. However, on these small matters, the follow-up is sometimes very cumbersome for the amount of the quotes.
“We had an Excel table where I entered all the data and we shared it with Watelet TP. It was a bit like the Bronx. I had to bring everything in, for the boss to look, for him to print the picture. We saw each other almost once a week to follow all this.” Alexandre tells us. “Every time we had a task to do we had to travel with the customer. It took us one hour a day,” Ali said. Not to mention the hours spent in the evening updating the Excel and preparing the attachments.
“We needed to find a more efficient and more effective monitoring system” testifies Alexandre. Construction supervisors not only have to manage external management and their work also involves a lot of communication with elected officials about the work in progress.

“It was the easy application side of Whatsapp that convinced us”
“For me, the first particularity of Kraaft is that we have instant information. When I open the application, I know what has been done,” explains Alexandre. The principle is simple: for each request that comes from internal services or local residents, the Suresnes teams create a Kraaft conversation with the type of disorder, photos, address and a short description.
Watelet TP has real-time information, Ali can see all the tasks created by the municipality and organize the schedule of his team leader accordingly. He has the photos and addresses directly, and his boss takes a photo after the work is finished. “I use Kraaft every day (...) I can even manage from my phone and validate quietly in the evening. And during the day I have more time to do my job, which is to be on construction sites (...) I save at least one hour a day because the application eliminates a large part of the visits with the customer” testifies Ali.
This real-time monitoring reinforces the relationship of trust between the customer and the company, and allows teams to be more reactive on urgent projects. “I managed to do a task in 5 minutes, luckily my teams were not far away, 100m away, they did the intervention and within 5 minutes I sent the photo back: the customer was very satisfied” continues Ali. “Before it would have been an Excel table, phone call, site visit, etc.”
The simplicity of the interface, similar to Google Maps and WhatsApp, allowed the teams to get started with the application in a few days. “Today it would be difficult to do without Kraaft (...) when you get used to good things it's very hard to go back” adds Ali.
Monitoring of interventions on satellite map and attachment table

All interventions are also displayed on the satellite map of the municipality with a color code according to the status of the construction site. “The map allows us to communicate with our elected officials to know the progress and the number of interventions in the city” explains Alexandre. A feature available on mobile that allows Ali to optimize schedules with his two managers.
“Even over longer operations, Kraaft allows us to communicate on the progress of the work (...) and to exchange in real time with the customer on any complications or questions we may have” adds Ali.
And at the time of the attachments at the end of the month, all the projects can be exported in Excel format with the photos. This makes it possible to save time on invoicing and to monitor ongoing projects. “Today Kraaft is improving the service of Watelet TP” on the reports testifies Ali, who also uses Word or Excel exports to generate his attachments.
“On a daily basis, Kraaft really allows us to work with peace of mind. We are not lost and if we fulfill our requests well, for the company behind it it is very simple and the job is better done. In the end everyone is a winner” concludes Alexandre.
“Today it would be difficult to do without Kraaft (...) when you get used to good things it's very hard to go back” (Ali Saidi, site manager at Watelet TP)
