Eurovia Aubervilliers uses Kraaft as construction site monitoring software

On April 19, 2022, we went to meet Maxime Jacob, site manager at Eurovia Aubervilliers. A Kraafer for over a year, he tells us about his experience.

The challenges of Eurovia Aubervilliers before using Kraaft

The Aubervilliers branch is the largest in the Eurovia group in terms of number of employees. Specializing in road and network works in Ile-de-France, it has been attached since 2021. at the new Vinci Construction Center, which brings together more than 120,000 employees.

“Today I am in Moulins on the RCEA project” begins Maxime. The Central European Atlantic Road project consists in transforming the RN79 into the A79, by changing the national road to highway standards. “It's a 93km project divided into 4 lots,” he continues. The first challenge of the project is therefore to find your way around the linear, and to follow the progress of the team leaders without always being able to be on site.

“A big part of my work is organizing with the various stakeholders. On a structure such as the viaduct, 11 different companies are involved. It is necessary to settle one another in order not to delay the whole project (...) The schedules are quite tight since the road has never closed, it is still in circulation” explains Maxime.

Given the importance of the project, quality monitoring is very demanding. Maxime, specialized in waterproofing on bituminous structures, testifies: “For everything that involves receiving support, I have to prove my watertightness (...) and prove that my bituminous sheets meet the standards”.

Position all the books on a satellite map

“In total I work on 93km and I have a hundred books. What I do is create a conversation for each book. I put the GPS point and the quantity in m2,” explains Maxime. The application allows team leaders to simply visualize each work positioned on the shelf. GPS coordinates and integration with Waze then make it easy for teams to get to site.

“We started Kraaft in December 2021. I explained well to my team leader what the advantages were. Since before I had to send him lots of GPS points (...) with Kraaft he would be able to find his way around and send me photos more simply”. And all the information in the book is centralized on the dedicated news feed: documents, photos, comments, materials, hazards, pressure tests and quality controls.

Generate reports for project management

Kraaft makes it possible to turn conversations into relationships. In one click, Maxime can generate construction site photo files, pressure test reports or anomaly sheets from the work's news feed. “It allows me to monitor the site, to provide evidence when I communicate with my project manager. In general, I have better follow-up of everything thanks to Kraaft.”

“For the construction manager who is not on site, he can remotely monitor the site and give us his feedback” adds Maxime. This allows supervisors to be informed in real time if there are any hazards, and to have traceability in the event of additional work.

“Without this tool, site management would have been much more complicated. I would have made an overall note with the number of the book but it would have been too complicated. Today, for a project like the RCEA, Kraaft is an almost indispensable tool for us” concludes Maxime.

“Today, Kraaft is used daily, two to three times a day (...) it has changed the way I work” (Maxime Jacob, waterproofing site manager at Eurovia Aubervilliers)

The benefits

✅ Photos automatically geo-located on the linear and time-stamped

✅ Better traceability of hazards and quality controls (form module)

✅ More responsive and transparent collaboration with MOA

✅ Save time on generating reports for construction managers

Reconnect the site
and the office
