DSM uses Kraaft as site monitoring software
On May 19, 2022, we met Vincent Doyeux and Bruno Villechanoux, director and site manager at Doyeux Sablières Montponnaises (DSM). Kraafers for over a year, they tell us about their experience.

The challenges of Doyeux Sablières Montponnaise (DSM) before using Kraaft
The public works company, based in Montpon Menesterol (24), is a real family adventure. Created in 1972 by Michel Doyeux, it shines all around Dordogne and now has more than thirty employees. Today it is Vincent, the founder's grandson, who welcomes us to the construction site.
“We are working on repairing the Lake Gurson pond. We have already redone the anti-slip protections and now we are taking care of the spillway part to drain the water so that it joins the stream,” he begins. For this type of work, but also on smaller projects for private customers, photo monitoring is essential to be sure to value all the work.
“Before we had construction cameras, or telephone applications, but we had a big problem recovering data, in fact we recovered 10% of the photos that were taken on the construction site” underlines Vincent.
So much time was lost to retrieve and sort the photos in the site files, whether during the study phase or to document the DOEs. “I can spend up to a week sorting photos upon receiving a file” adds the director.

Saves time on photo classification
“Kraaft has been using it for a year” explains Bruno. “It's daily in the end, as the tasks progress I send a photo, with a comment from time to time, to see the progress of the work, and that about once or twice a day.”
And the principle is simple. The application, whose mobile interface is similar to WhatsApp, allows team leaders and site managers to upload photos, videos, voice notes, or comments in the dedicated site news feed. “It allowed us to really save a lot of time, for everything related to the management of problems on site” testifies Vincent. This does not eliminate phone calls or site visits, but the responsiveness of communication (instant notifications) and the sorting of photos according to the phases of the construction site allow all teams to save time on follow-up.

A more transparent relationship with the MOA
“We are starting to share our Kraaft projects with our customers (...) They appreciate it in the sense that for them it is still transparent, and they see that if there is regular follow-up, it is because the company has nothing to hide” underlines Vincent.
There are two options available on Kraaft. Or download Word and Excel reports and share them with the MOA. Or invite the customer directly with secure accesses (free licenses for external guests). This reporting service is also an argument to be used during market renewals (appendix prepared by Kraaft to be attached to the thesis).
“I also save time on my tenders” adds Vincent. The director in fact creates logbooks on Kraaft as early as the study part. For each visit, its teams take notes on the construction site news feed and geo-locate significant points on the satellite map. If the file goes through the execution phase, they add the team leaders to the site group and they already have all the preparation context.
“In the end, I save 3 days per month on the classification of photos (...) I sometimes get quantities, even my construction orders (...) and I can take stock directly with my monitoring software” concludes Vincent.
